Mixed Media Portrait Artist
Born in Shoreditch, a creative area in East London, Michelle is a fine art mixed media artist who loves graphite for its portability and efficacy. Michelle has visited over 35 countries and 48 American states, she knows you are never alone for long with a sketch pad and pencil! ''Drawing an image can bypasses any language, intellect, sexual, religious or political difference.''
Michelle believes any creative endeavour can bring people together and offer relief to the lonely or isolated.
At the age of 20, while studying English & Sociology, during her class break, she gravitated to the Art class, and all her childhood passion, came to the service & she was bitten by the art bug. The Following day she returned to the class and spoke with the tutor, who encouraged her to join the A level class examination taking place the following week. Michelle sat the examination and was awarded a grade A.
Later on she did a stint at Central St Martins College of Art.
It is this moment in time, that spurs Michelle on to encourage, enable and hopefully inspire people to return to study, gain confidence and perhaps gain qualifications that can open doors. She took on the challenging role of PA to the keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts (Prof Brendan Neiland RA) and relished everyday she could sit with the students and enjoy life drawing in the same hallowed halls as Blake and Newton. Indeed, she was given the opportunity to exhibit her figurative work at the Royal Academy, in an exhibition opened by Sir Peter Blake. Michelle continues to appreciate many longstanding friendships with Royal Academicians, staff and ex students at the RA Art school but chose to return to her career in the media.
Having achieved teacher status, Michelle is now a professional artist and proud mum, who now divides her time between London, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and the South Coast. Michelles work is in private and public collections in Europe and the United States.
